From Mud to Sod!

The day dawned clear and crisp, and the workers arrived full force, reminiscent of those first Saturdays in November last year! Many willing hands (almost 60 in total!) came to help with the landscaping, roofing, and cleaning/moving. As the many months have had their toll on the laborers, it was refreshing to see the excitement and zeal, and many young and old coming to help! It truly refreshes our spirits, and increases our motivation to work for the Lord.

The yard went from just dirt to plantings, mulch, and sod.  The rain thankfully held off, and although the cloud cover worried some of us, the workers welcomed the relief from the warm sun. Now that the sod is in, we can all pray for that gentle soaking rain all night that would be wonderful for the freshly laid sod and new shrubs!

The foyer roof was labour intensive to strip and re-shingle, but the workers kept going strong all day!

The ladies and young girls worked diligently, cleaning what could be cleaned, and moving over most of the kitchen supplies, and Sunday School room items in anticipation of the long awaited occupancy.

The book holders were installed on most of the benches. Trim work continues.

Special thanks to the out of town volunteers. From expertly driving the skid steer, to providing the excellent meals, this project would have been impossible for our congregation alone. The Lord is good, and continues to provide in large and small ways. An incredible transformation has been made in the physical church building, along with the lessons and impressions made on the spiritual church. It has been a humbling year, realizing how much we are blessed and supported, first by the Lord and those in our surrounding churches.

Lord willing, we plan to host the following events:
     Dedication: October 14th
     Elder's Meeting: October 26-27th
     O.M.E.C. Meeting: November 3rd
     Baptism: November 3-4th
     Area Sing: November 4th

We look forward to worshiping with everyone at these events and for many years to come!

Please be in prayer as we finish the construction work, and have the final inspections on plumbing, HVAC, and final occupancy inspections in the coming weeks. The parking lot is also scheduled to be paved for final occupancy.
