February 11, 2012

Well, the big moving day has come and gone... Thanks to the many hands, and strong backs, in less than an hour we had the truck loaded with over 100 chairs, 20 tables, 2 pianos, and the contents of a kitchen, sunday school, and baby room, and all the other items that the church has collected in the decades of using 274 Weston Rd. Only the Bibles and Zion's Harps and sound equipment remain for our last Sunday tomorrow.

A chapter of the history of the Toronto Church has come to an end. The next chapter is before us, with blank pages waiting to be filled with memories, events, and lessons learned. It is a time of uncertainty for some, and a transition some of our older members didn't imagine would happen in their lifetimes. God's hand has been with us right from the beginning, and if we cling to the knowledge that He has directed us, and blessed us with a new location, He will provide all that we need in that new location.

While some where loading and unloading, others continued work on the drywall hanging, and benches.

The Windows are all in now, upstairs and downstairs.

The ceiling was also sprayed and the tie rods painted this past week.

A well earned, delicious meal. It is hard to get back to work after such wonderful meals!
Thanks again to the Ancaster ladies for the meal.

February 4th, 2012

Special thanks to the Brothers and Friends who tirelessly come, spending their free Saturdays with us on this project...and their wives and children for sharing their husbands and fathers with us too! We could not have tackled this project without the outpouring of support, from local volunteers, and out of town volunteers alike. We are blessed with a fellowship that joins together in this physical way, in addition to the spiritual fellowship we enjoy.

Today consited of:
-wiring with the help of many able hands from Kitchener
-installation of vapor barrier
-building of racks for pews (to store them more out of the way as we refinish in batches)
-bench sanding (as always)

As you can see also, there has been mid-week work on the ducting & windows.
